Well we at the Chamber have finally done it, we’ve taken the plunge and attempted to enter the world of “blogging.” I can think of no better reason for starting a Chamber blog than to enter a discussion about the future of our Chamber. I asked my staff to help me set this up and we're not experts in blogging so if you have any suggestions, please send them here and let us know your thoughts.
As of today, Members of your Board of Directors have presented the outline of the Chamber 2020 strategic initiatives at various Chamber functions and meetings. If you haven’t had a chance to see the presentation I’d encourage you to review the strategic plan document or the PowerPoint presentation.
I wanted to take their outreach efforts to a new phase and engage in a new discussion with you. Over the next few weeks I’d like to facilitate a discussion with you on various components of the Chamber 2020 Strategic Work Plan. We're still developing the operational details of the 2020 plan and your feedback will help guide where we will end up. I need you to click the comments tab under this post and give me your honest feedback over this.
As always, your feedback will drive where we as a Chamber end up, you are a crucial player and I hope that you’ll find our Chamber 2020 blog useful. Thanks for reading my first blog post.
Mike: Great idea! I like the blog and am glad to see you are using typepad. They have been very easy to work with. One suggestion is to get a descriptive url which you can then map over the typepad url. The reason for doing this is then you "own" the blog and the posts that you accumulate over time on the internet. This way your blog is transportable and also memorable and easy for people to find. As an example my blogs are www.enhanceyourenvironment.com for my landscape business and www.gettherightresults.com for my speaking and consulting business. Good luck and let me know if I can help.
